Bio:

Connie's career has involved, teaching, painting, digital design and illustration. After graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Art, Education and New Media Design she has continued to produce her art and pursue a variety of creative projects. A re-occurring thematic exploration in her work is time and memory and the beauty of the imperfections of surface and the glimpses into its history of touch and mark making. She has been a part of Tri-Art Mfg. for over 16 years which has given her the insight into new product developments and materials to guide her artistic development.

Statement:

This stylized and somewhat romantic depiction of fire marks the beginning of my reflection into this powerful element and the attempt capture its multi faceted meanings for me. I have always had a complex relationship to it, whether it be fear, attraction, reverence or awe. An element that once symbolized loss to me now become the source of connection and great comfort.
