How to paint furniture with Fusion Mineral Paint
Clean and degrease your furniture piece
Use TSP alternative cleaner to remove oils, dirt, and residues. This ensures proper adhesion of the paint to your surface.
Light scuff sanding where needed
Lightly sand glossy or slick surfaces with fine grit sandpaper. Most pieces only need minimal sanding - focus on shiny spots that might prevent paint adhesion.
Apply Fusion Mineral Paint in thin coats
Use a quality synthetic brush for edges and details, small roller for flat surfaces. Work in thin, even coats and avoid over-brushing as paint starts to set.
Add second coat if needed
Most pieces need 2 coats for full coverage. Wait 1-2 hours between coats and lightly sand any imperfections with fine grit paper.
Optional topcoat for high-use pieces
For kitchen tables, cabinet doors, or bathroom vanities, add extra protection with Fusion Tough Coat, furniture wax, or finishing oil.
