Young Storytellers (ages 7-12)

In this course, young artists will exercise their creativity to create a storybook featuring their wonderful illustrations alongside their writing. The book will be handmade from start to finish. Artists will have full creative freedom to tell any story they wish! Maybe you want to make a children's book about a bird that doesn’t like to fly, a comic book about an original superhero you want to bring to life, or a fashion illustration book that follows the story of a talented designer? The sky's the limit!.

The course will go over story structure and how to compose a picture for storytelling by examining techniques employed in story-boarding. We will also explore different font styles, character design and that will be provided to inspire and guide students hand-written printing features within their books. Students will be encouraged to explore the use of multimedia in their illustrations and work in the medium of their choice (Ex. Acrylics, watercolour, charcoal, paper collage, pencil crayon, gouache etc.). We will also look at a variety of illustrators for inspiration.

This course will be open to artists of all levels. All materials provided!

Please note! Art Noise requires a minimum of 4 participants to run any class or workshop. Classes or workshops that do not hit the minimum participant requirement will be cancelled with a 72 hour notice.

100% refunds will only be given if the cancellation is made up to 7 days (1 week) prior to the class/workshop start date, and no refunds will be given less than 1 week prior to the start of class, however the option to transfer to another class (if space available) or store credit will be offered instead. If a participant missed the class/workshop without prior notice, Art Noise reserves the right to deny a class transfer or store credit to compensate for materials purchased and Instructor wages.
