Our Oil Mediums collection gives you full control over how your oil colours move, dry, and shine. These Tri-Art oil mediums include classic drying oils, modern alkyds, eco cold wax, citrus based thinners, and dammar varnish, so you can fine tune everything from first sketch to final surface.

Choose from linseed, safflower, sunflower, hemp, and stand oils to extend colour, improve flow, and adjust yellowing tendencies for different palettes. Alkyd Oil Medium and Alkyd Gel speed drying and add gloss and strength, ideal for layering or alla prima work that needs to set up faster. Eco Cold Wax mediums in safflower and hemp create matte, textural surfaces and are perfect for cold wax painting and mixed media.

For thinning and clean up, orange scented thinner and D-limonene offer a more pleasant alternative to traditional solvents, while Liquid White Oil supports wet-into-wet techniques on a primed painting surface. Dammar Varnish (gloss) lets you finish and protect dry paintings with a clear, traditional resin sheen.
