What we offer

Three ways to learn

Every creative mind is different. Choose the structure that suits how you learn best.

01

Technical Classes & Workshops

Structured learning

Where creativity and instruction combine. Students learn new skills and techniques through focused, step-by-step guidance. Built around traditional learning — covering foundational methods, specific mediums, and proven techniques used by professional artists.

Best for students who want structured, step-by-step learning

02

Creative Classes & Workshops

Guided creativity

All about creativity and expression. Students learn new skills or explore a new medium, then have dedicated time for experimentation and their own creative work. Instructors provide guidance and inspiration rather than step-by-step instruction.

03

Facilitated Sessions

Self-guided studio time

One-day, self-guided opportunities for artists of any skill level to work in a creative environment. An Art Noise facilitator is on site and available to offer guidance when needed — but these sessions are not taught. You bring your project, your ideas, your focus.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

What's the difference between Technical and Creative classes?
Technical classes are structured and instruction-led — you follow step-by-step guidance to build specific skills. Creative classes introduce a skill or medium and then give you open time to experiment and make your own work. If you want clear direction, go Technical; if you want more freedom, go Creative.
What are Facilitated Sessions?
Facilitated Sessions are self-guided studio days — not classes. You come in with your own project or idea, work at your own pace, and an Art Noise facilitator is available on site if you need advice or guidance. They won't be teaching, but they're there to help if you get stuck.
Do you offer classes for kids, teens, and adults?
Yes — our schedule includes age-specific programming and mixed-age workshops. Kids (6–12), teens (13–17), and adults (18+) each have dedicated class options, and some formats are open to all ages.
I'm a total beginner. Where should I start?
Look for "Foundations" or "Beginner" in the title — these cover core techniques with no prior experience required. Our Technical Foundations series is the most structured starting point for new students.
Are supplies included?
Most classes include essential materials in the registration price. Any additional or take-home items are listed on the individual class page. Our shop stocks everything on site so you can pick up extras before or after your session.
Can I book a private or group workshop?
Yes — we offer private classes for birthdays, team socials, staff events, and small groups. Send us your preferred date, group size, and what you'd like to focus on and we'll put together a tailored session.
Where are you located?
290 Princess St, downtown Kingston, Ontario. We're minutes from Queen's University and the waterfront, accessible by transit, and there's nearby parking on Princess and Clergy streets.
