Mari Brown Virtanen, a Finnish Canadian artist and illustrator.  Mari grew up in Sweden, and after she studied fine arts in Stockholm, she moved to Canada, and she lives in Kingston with her husband and their nutty pup.  Mari's art work comes in many forms, from landscapes on canvas, book and editorial illustrations, urban sketching, to block printing.

If she's not working in her studio, she'll be found hiking and doing Plein Air painting, or out checking out local sites with her art kit ready to sketch.  

Nature, architecture, daily life, her family, and her Scandinavian background is Mari's biggest inspiration for her art.
