Portrait Painting Alla Prima with Samantha Waddell

Learn to paint portraits like the masters in this 4 week course that focuses on the techniques of chiaroscuro and alla prima (also known as  “first attempt” painting). Participants will learn how to use colour relationships, shapes and values to move from general shapes and layout to create a fully visualized portrait.

 

All materials are included, including 1 - 16x24” canvas. Some photo references will be available to use if desired, otherwise participants are encouraged to bring in their own chosen portrait images.

Date: Saturdays - January 17 - February 7

Registration Details: 3 hour session, 4 weeks

Please note! Art Noise requires a minimum of 4 participants to run any class or workshop. Classes or workshops that do not hit the minimum participant requirement will be cancelled with a 72 hour notice. 

100% refunds will only be given if the cancellation is made up to 7 days (1 week) prior to the class/workshop start date, and no refunds will be given less than 1 week prior to the start of class. However the option to transfer to another class (if space available) or store credit will be offered instead. If a participant missed the class/workshop without prior notice, Art Noise reserves the right to deny a class transfer or store credit to compensate for materials purchased and Instructor wages.
